(Bangkok Post file photo)The Central Wage Committee will set up a panel to work out a new formula to calculate the minimum wage before making any decision on an increase, permanent secretary for labour Puntrik Samiti on Wednesday. ML Puntrik was speaking after a meeting of the Central Wage Committee, which he chairs. It would prepare a new minimum wage formula and forward it to the Central Wage Committee by the end of October. The minimum wage must also be based on the real economic conditions of the country, said ML Puntrik. Mr Sombat, too, believed the new wage formula would be ready for use early next year.
